Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 software update addressing the brick issue in Europe

Original: Yesterday, we reported about the most awaited November 2022 firmware upgrade for the Galaxy Watch 4 (LTE) (Classic) featuring hotfix for the brick issue. While that was for the Korean variants, the update has now rolled out globally. It is highly recommended that you update your Watch 4 to the November 2022 software update with build VK4 right away.

If you donโ€™t already know, the previous GVI3 October 2022 firmware update for the Galaxy Watch 4 bricked devices when the watch is powered off or runs out of battery. It wonโ€™t turn back on and wonโ€™t charge ever!

Users who updated to the latest October 2022 software version soon realized that their devices were getting bricked after restarting, powering off, or after the battery runs out of juice.

Some users also reported the same happening after a reboot or power off. Most speculate that the watch only bricks when the battery reaches zero and dies.

Starting today, Samsung released a Hotfix update with firmware build VK4 that addresses the exact same issue. The OTA weighs 104 MB in size which is quite significant for a watch.

The changelog says power operations-related stabilization code has been applied.
