Oxygen OS 12.1 for OnePlus 9RT and Nord CE 5G

Last year, Google released a brand new Android 12 OS update followed by Android 12.1/12L for larger screens like tablets and foldable smartphones. OnePlus immediately released Android 12 developer preview followed by an Open Beta program for its custom Oxygen OS 12 firmware update.

All major OnePlus devices including the 10 series, 9 series, and 8 series have already received stable Android 12 firmware update. Today, the smartphone maker rolled out the most anticipated Oxygen OS 12.1 based update for the flagship OnePlus 9RT and the budget Nord CE 5G based on Android 12. The full OTA is now available for download.

Android 12 features a new wallpaper-based theming engine based on the brand new Material You visuals. This theme engine will automatically apply a systemwide accent with different color pallets based on the home screen wallpaper. OnePlus has itโ€™s own implementation of Material You implemented in Oxygen OS 12.1 and the upcoming Oxygen OS 13.

As for the Oxygen OS 12.1 firmware, OnePlus brings a new colorful user interface for the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, resembling itโ€™s Color OS 12 counterpart. As for the OnePlus 9RT, it retains the Oxygen OS look.

Unfortunately, the OnePlus shelf is still present and wonโ€™t be replaced by Google Discover. However, you can still get the discover feed using this tutorial: How to Get Google Discover Feed on any Smartphone For Home Screen.
