Google just recently released Android 13 Beta at the recet developer conferrence event for Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel 5a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 4a (5G), Pixel 4a, Pixel 4 XL, or Pixel 4 devices. Android 13’s primary focuse is on creating a safer environment on the device with more controls for “privacy and security” to the users. It also includes the following features:

Another major focus of Android 13 is the addition of new tools for app developers. The ability for third-party apps to produce Themed icons, which were previously only available through the Pixel Launcher and first-party Google services, is a highlight. All that is required of developers is a monochrome app icon (and tweak their adaptive icon XML). Google encourages all apps to do so and is working with OEMs to get them to do so.

Allowing applications to create system dialogues with unique Quick Settings tiles that users can add with a single tap, establishing per-all languages, and speedier hyphenation are among the other features.

Android 13 for all smartphones from OEMs

Most of the device makers have their own instance of Android 12 software. As OEMs implement their own skin on top of Android, they usually have their respective beta programs or developer preview buids. This includes OnePlus’ Oxygen OS 13 (or Color OS 13), Xiaomi’s MIUI 13/14, OPPO’ ColorOS 13, Realme’s Realme OS or Origin OS, and more.

According to the timeline, Android 13’s final release will be around August 2022 or later for the Pixel devices. Third-party OEMs are now catching up by releasing the developer preview or beta. You can either enroll or directly download the full stock firmware from the OEM respository.pages.

Download Android 13 OTA, Factory Images, and GSI

Android 13 Beta OTA updates and system images are available for download for the Pixel 4 (XL), Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, and Pixel 6 Pro, as well as the Android Emulator.

The easiest way to get Android 13 on Pixel devices is via Factory Images or flashing OTA files from Android 12. Visiting the Android Beta Program may do nothing for Developer Preview. It will go live after first Android 12 public beta is available.
