OnePlus just recently announced the first Open Beta of Oxygen OS 12 for the OnePlus Nord. That was earlier this month and we already have the second beta update featuring Oxygen OS 12.1! This is a minor OTA update of about 60 MB. However, the update panel says Oxygen OS 12.1.

The open beta program from OnePlus is for letting people check out an early version of Android 12 firmware before the stable one rolls out. Looking at the changelog and feedback, it seems as if the stable Oxygen OS 12.1 is just around the corner. Meanwhile, OnePlus has released a hotfix OTA update to address some of the issues that have been reported by users.

The latest OTA update for OnePlus Nord features a new firmware build number F.10. Itโ€™s a minor update weighing just about 60MB in size. As for the changes, it corrects an issue with the audio that was playing incorrectly.

On top of this, you will get custom Oxygen OS 12 and Android 12 goodies like the new wallpaper-based theme engine (Material You), Privacy dashboard, and updated OnePlus apps.

Furthermore, you get Oxygen OS 12 native features like a custom version of Material You design, Dark Mode with 3 adjustable levels, improved Shelf, Canvas AOD, and much more.

Known issues (may have been fixed in the update 2)

  1. The left bottom button of the keyboard may disappear.
  2. Unable to browse, delete and download pictures in Cloud.
  3. Personal Safe may not respond.
  4. Anti-shake effect in Snapchat may not be obvious.
  5. The screen may flicker when previewing after taking pictures.

Download Oxygen OS 12.1 for OnePlus Nord (Full Stock Firmware Update)

Oxygen OS 12.1 for OnePlus Nord comes with the latest Open Beta 2. If you donโ€™t already know, Open Beta is a secondary firmware for beta testers. It is based on the latest Android 12 firmware update released recently by Google.

If your device is on the first Oxygen OS 12 open beta, you will receive the OTA update notification. To check, visit Settings > System > System updates. OnePlus hasnโ€™t provided incremental packages for the update yet.

So if your device is on the stable version, you can download the full OTA package listed below and manually update your device via Local Upgrade method.

How to install Oxygen OS 12.1 full stock firmware for OnePlus Nord series?

Most of the above-listed updates are incremental OTA updates. Meaning, you need to be on the previous Oxygen OS 11 firmware and install the OTA zip via stock recovery or via adb commands.

Alternatively, for full updates, do the following:

MP version โ€“ Stable official version
DP version โ€“ Developer Preview version
OBT Version โ€“ Open Beta version

MP and OBT to DP upgrade guideโ€”via Local OTA Update

Note: This upgrade method will erase all the contents of the phone, please be sure to backup first.

  1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
  2. Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
  3. Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click top right icon -> Local upgrade -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> Upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
  4. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
  5. Update successful.

Downgrade to Android 11 via rollback package on OnePlus Nord series

How to downgrade?

Users who have already upgraded to this OxygenOS 12 stable firmware, can rollback can download the full firmware from the downgrade section and install it via this APK here. With it, you can choose to roll back. It will open automatically after being installed, then you just need to click the button on the top right corner, to select the upgrade file as mentioned in step 3 of the instructions above.

  1. Download the suitable rollback package from the links below.
  2. Copy the Rollback package to the phone storage.
  3. Install this APK (direct link). Youโ€™ll need it to roll back. Then, open the โ€œMyApplication2โ€ app -> tap LOCAL UPGRADE, then enter the Recent page -> tap the top-left menu icon -> chose your phone model -> find the downgrade package and tap -> then will jump to another page and have an Installation options alert, tap INSTALL NOW -> wait to finish the installation -> tap rebootโ€‹โ€‹
  4. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
  5. Rollback successful.
