Oxygen OS 11 just rolled out for OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro | Android 11 for OnePlus 7 Series

Just yesterday we reported that OnePlus 7 series received stable Android 11 update based on Oxygen OS 11. However, that included the newer OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro. The OTA updates for the regular 7 and 7 Pro devices are always late. Today, this has changed with OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro just now receiving the most awaited stable Oxygen OS 11 build.

Android 11 is now rolling out for the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro device globally for North American, EU, and Indian variants. It features all the Oxygen OS 11 goodies like revamped UX for a more comfortable experience, updated stock apps, newer February 2021 security patch level, latest GMS packages from January 2021, and much more. The changelog is quite generic as we have been seeing since OnePlus 8 got Android 11.

Unfortunately, we won’t see the Ambient display (or Always on Display) and the new Google discover. OnePlus 7 series still uses OnePlus Shelf. However, we do see updated camera and features like HEVC codec to reduce video storage size. Game Space gets a major update with several optimizations and features.   • Newly added gaming tools box for convenient switches of Fnatic mode. You can now choose three ways of notifications: text-only, heads-up, and block, just for your immersive gaming experience
  • Newly added quick reply feature in a small window for Instagram, Whatsapp, and Telegram (Enable it by swiping down from upper right/left corners of the screen in gaming mode.
  • Newly added mis-touch prevention feature. Enable it, swipe down from the top of the screen, click and the notification bar will pop out.
• Shelf
  • Newly shelf interface design, the interface is clearer
  • Added weather widget, animation effect smarter
• Gallery
  • Supporting Story function, automatically form weekly videos with photos and video in storage.
  • Optimize the loading screen of the gallery, and the image preview is faster
