Samsung Galaxy S20 series gets Android 11 based on One UI 3.0-min

Samsung launched their new set of 2021 flagship phones with the Galaxy S21, S21+, and the S21 Ultra. The phones feature top notch hardware and software specifications. We are especially thrilled for the latest One UI 3.1 software upgrade feature in the Galaxy S21 series. The update is now rolling out for the Galaxy S20 series as well. Here is how to download the full stock One UI 3.1 firmware .

Soon after Samsung launched Galaxy S21, the OEM promised all the new features from these devices for the former flagship phones like Galaxy S20 and Note 20. According to their official press release, One UI 3.1 will come to Galaxy S20 series, Note20 series, Z Fold2 and Z Flip, and the S10, Note10, and Fold, A71, A51, A90, A80, A70, and A50 devices. The software update is already rolling out for the S20, S20+, S20 Ultra in Europe and Asia for the Exynos variants.

While it is still based on Android 11, One UI 3.1 comes with some stunning upgrades over the previous one including improved Single Take feature for Samsung camera, object eraser for captured images, improved touch autofocus and autoexposure controller. Adding to the list is the new Multi Mic Recording feature while video recording under Pro Video mode. This enables you to simultaneously record audio through both your phone and a connected Bluetooth devices.

Other One UI 3.1 features include new Eye Comfort Shield, Private Share, and Auto Switch for connected Bluetooth devices. Most importantly, One UI 3.1 now support eSIM functionality for select regions including India.

The update is now rolling out for Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 +, and S20 Ultra with firmware build number G980FXXU6DUB5.

Due to carrier restrictions, the software updates for Snapdragon variants (in US and Canada) always get a little delayed. As the manufacturer just rolled out a stable OneUI 3.1 firmware update for the Exynos variants, wait a little longer for the carrier variants in US from T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T.

Download One UI 3.1 for Galaxy S20/S20+/S20Ultra

The easiest way is to download One UI 3.1 for Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series is by visiting settings > system update > download updates manually. You can also download the full stock One UI 3.0 firmware updates using SamFirm tool or the Firja Tool and install via Odin Flashtool.

One UI 3.1 is currently only available in select countries like Germany, Europe and India, Asia for the Exynos Galaxy S20 (SM-G980F), S20 Plus (SM-G985F), and S20 Ultra variants. Eligible devices include! Devices with MULTI-CSC OXM! You can check this by dialing using your phone app at โ€“ *#1234#, and check if OXM is in the CSC-build.

You can use the SamFirm (Samsung Firmware Downloader) tool and the newly added Frija (also a Samsung Software Downloader) in order to download the full stock firmware directly from Samsung Severs. It will let you download the latest stock firmware in a .TAR file extension for any Samsung Galaxy device. Go through the following steps.

  • First, download and extract the latest SamFirm tool or the Frija Samsung Firmware Downloader.
  • Go to About Phone under Settings on your S20 and note down the model number like Galaxy S20 (SM-G980F), S20 Plus (SM-G985F), and S20 Ultra.
  • Find the CSC code for your Galaxy S20 phones from here. Also known as a region or product code. In this case, we are using DBT for Germany and Android 11.
  • Input the model number and region code.
  • Select or check the Auto box.
  • Also, check decrypt automatically box.
  • Hit check updates option.
  • Once the details are shown, hit the download button.
