How to fix GPS tracking issues on Samsung Galaxy devices – Affected Galaxy S8/S9/S10 Note 8/9/10

Samsung users have been reporting GPS tacking issues lately. The worst affected devices include the former flagship phones called Galaxy S8 and Note 8. Some users have also reported the same on the Note 9, Galaxy S9, Note 10, and Galaxy S10 series after a buggy OTA update rolled out earlier this year. However, these newer devices aren’t as severely affected as the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 series. Here is a simple GPS issue fix for Samsung Galaxy phones.

This all started with a buggy OTA update earlier rolled out to all Samsung Galaxy devices, possibly March 2020 security patch level for the S8 and Note 8. Due to this bug, various navigation apps such as Google Maps are unable to keep a consistent GPS lock on. So Android Auto, Google maps, Uber, and all the apps depending on GPS for location tracking won’t track it correctly at times. The connection drops.

According to several reports, the issue started following a buggy update rolled out earlier this year; most likely March 2020 security patch level. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 devices are the most severely affected phones. Some users of Note 9 and S9 are also reporting the same.

However, don’t worry we have a fix for this issue which comes directly from the stunning Samsung community. The simple fix is using an app called GPS Status – notification proxy plugin. All you need is to keep this apps installed on your phone.
