T-Mobile LG G7 and LG V40 ThinQ get stable Android 10 update with LG UX 9.0

LG already started testing Android 10 beta firmware for the LG G7 a while ago for the South Korean variants. Seems like the beta testing is over and the manufacturer is all set to release the latest update globally. The North American region seems to be the first to receive Android 10 for the T-Mobile LG G7 ThinQ and T-Mobile LG V40 ThinQ based on LG UX 9.0. So users of LG G7 and V40 ThinQ can download the latest Android 10 update right now!

LG introduced their latest firmware called LG UX 9.0 with the launch of G8 ThinQ that came with Android 10 out of the box. The same update now comes to the LG G7 ThinQ and V40 ThinQ in the United States for T-Mobile carrier. As the V40 is only sold in the USA, other carriers will follow soon including Sprint, Verizon, and Unlocked. The G7 ThinQ, on the other hand, is sold internationally and some global variants have already started receiving the update. Simply go to settings > system updates > and download the latest Android 10 OTA update.

The LG UX 9.0 features a brand new design new animations, brand new navigation gestures, icon packs, updated apps with new material design, and much more. Not to mention all the Android 10 features including systemwide Dark Mode support, smart reply, brand new gesture navigation system, advanced controls for privacy and location, built-in Digital Wellbeing option under settings, latest Android security patch from 2020.

Well of course, the latest update for LG G7 ThinQ comes with all the features from LG UX 9.0 and Android 10. The OTA comes with a new firmware build number G710TM30a (T-Mobile), latest Security Patch Level April 1, 2020, and Kernel v4.9.193. Here is the screenshot for the same. The LG G7 G710EM (Global), G710PM (Sprint), G710VMP (Verizon), G710ULM (USA unlocked), G710EMW (CH, AU, NZL, HKG), G710EAW 128/6 (HKG, SGP, AU, EU), G710AWM (Canada), and G710N (South Korea) variants will soon receive the update.

The latest update for LG V40 ThinQ comes with all the features from LG UX 9.0 and Android 10. The OTA comes with a new firmware build number, latest Security Patch Level April 1, 2020, and Kernel version. Here is the screenshot for the same. The LG V40 ThinQ V405QA7 (USA Unlocked). V405UA (Sprint, AT&T, Verizon), V405TAB (T-Mobile), and V405UA0 (U.S. Cellular) variants will soon receive the update.
