Android 10 Firmware Update for Asus Zenfone 5

Asus recently got the Android 10 update. However, that’s pure AOSP based and does not contain ZenUI as of now. The stable channel of Zenfone 5 is still running Android 9.0 Pie. So users who want to try the latest Android 10 update on their Zenfone 5 they can try and install Android 10 Beta  usong this tutorial.

Alternatively, Asus recently pushed February 2020 security patch update for the Zenfone 5 via stable channel. It is still based on Android 9 Pie. How to update Asus Zenfone 5/5Z manually?

Installation instructions:

• Backup your apps, data, photos etc. and transfer it to your PC.
• Download the update file from the link above.
• Put it in the root folder (internal storage) of your phone as seen in the screenshot below.
• make sure you do not rename the downloaded file or put it inside any folder.

• There should be a new software update notification saying system update file detected.
• Restart your phone if it doesn’t.

• Tap on the notification and hit install.
• Wait for the installation to finish.
• Then reboot the phone once.
