OnePlus has started rolling out the latest firmware update for the flagship phones from past 3 generations. The OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro just received the official Oxygen OS 10.0.1 based on stable Android 10 firmware with some stunning features. The manufacturer later rolled out the same for OnePlus 6 and 6T as well with the Open Beta 1 based on Hydrogen OS 10. It’s time for the OnePlus 5 and 5T to receive Android 10. But today is not the day. The update may take quiet some time before it makes it to the stable channel. Here is the pre-Android 10 OTA update for the OnePlus 5 and 5T with Oxygen OS 9.0.9.
The latest Oxygen OS 9.0.9 features October 2019 security patch level. That’s pretty much it. The update may not be much, but the security patch is quite important as it protects your Android devices from vulnerabilities such as QualPwn. QualPwn vulnerability has been patched for the OnePlus 5 series phone with the previous Oxygen OS 9.0.8 update. The latest OTA update also fixes a minor bug with the expanded screenshots. Plus you can expect some general bug fixes and system improvements too.
Most importantly, in the recent launch event of the 7T series phones, OnePlus also promised Android 10 for OnePlus 5 and 5T. With all that said, Oxygen OS 9.0.9 is still based on Android 9 Pie and not the latest Android 10. If you are expecting Android 10, then you might consider getting in the beta testing program. Because the next Open Beta update might brings Android 10 based on Oxygen OS 10 for the OnePlus 5 and 5T. Meanwhile, download and install Oxygen OS 9.0.9 for OnePlus 5 and 5T.
Here is the latest update log for Oxygen OS 9.0.9 for OnePlus 5 and 5T:
