What is with Warranty? I’ve got .bin file, and not .zip file.

There is a new Samsung SDK methods. This won’t trigger the Knox counter and won’t void warranty. So you should be safe. Also, are you sure you have downloaded the proper file?

That sounds great! Sorry, for the first reply. You must rename the file name to “update.zip”. Hope you already figured it out.

You can try, but it will most likely fail. You must be on ASII firmware first.

Rename it to “update.zip” and then proceed. Remember, the file extension should be “.zip” You can change the file extension in Windows easily.

You must be on the ASII base firmware. Looks like you are not on the same firmware as required. If you are so inclined, you will need to flash the full stock firmware of ASII via Odin and then the OTA will work.

You shouldn’t void warranty anyway. It’s just that for Exynos variants SDK method works best. The rest works on the Snapdragon variants.

Guess that’s the firmware bug. You should report it to Samsung via Samsung Members app. They should fix it in the next update. Alternatively, you can try resetting the problematic apps. That is, clear data and force stop them.

Oh and I am not sure if you are aware that there is a biometric flaw in the fingerprint scanner..Samsungbsaidbit was to release a patch….does this update have that patch already included or do you have the method i can use to update it manually…thanks

    1. AndroidSage Avatar
      AndroidSage

Depends on the procedure. If you have updated from the Samsung Member’s app, then you will get an OTA update of the stable version. Otherwise you will have to manually update it. By then you will most likely have the full Odin firmware to sideload. So that should be easy.
