Samsung One UI based on Android 9.0 Pie

Updated: One UI beta program has started for the Samsung Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F/FD), S8 Plus (SM-G955F/FD), and Note 8 (SM-N950F/FD) international variants. The OTA update features a new firmware build number N950FXXU5ZSA5 for the Note 8. Same goes for the S8 and S8 Plus with build G950FXXU4ZSA7 and G955FXXU4ZSA7 respectively. We have downloaded and installed the Android 9.0 Pie firmware on our Galaxy S8 and it is almost stable. So register for One UI beta program here.

Samsung Galaxy S8 S8+ and Note 8 One UI Beta Program

Original: For the first time in the history of Samsung updates, the second flagship series phones are getting the latest One UI beta program. Yes, the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, and the Note 8 phones will get the official One UI beta based on Android 9.0 Pie very soon. The registration has started for some in the United States (Snapdragon variants). The official date isnโ€™t known yet. So our best guess is that One UI beta will roll outย as soon as January 2019; once the current flagships get updated via stable channel. So stay tuned as we will update the download linksย for Android 9 Pie here and also look for registration notice as well.

The Android 9 Pie beta program will start for both โ€“ the Snapdragon and Exynos variants. It will first roll out in United States, and later in European countries like Germany and Asian countries like India and Korea for phones with model numbers Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F/FD, SM-G950U),ย Galaxy S8 Plus (SM-G955F/FD, SM-G955U), andย Galaxy Note 8 (SM-N950F/FD, SM-N950U).

Samsungโ€™s newly launched One UI firmware is well liked and is focused on 3 key features apart from the redesigned user interface โ€“ (1) focus mainly on the task at hand (or of priority), (2) interact naturally, and (3) With One UI you can easily find and focus on the priority content with theย de-cluttered screens shown across the firmware and parts of the stock apps. You can get relevant information with each tap.

The OTA update zip is already available for the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 devices. However, thatโ€™s the leaked alpha builds meant for the Snapdragon variants only. So signing up for the beta program will get you the same on the Exynos variants as well. Moreover, being tested thoroughly, for almost 4 beta updates, on the Galaxy S9, S9 Plus, and the Note 9, the One UI beta is close to stable. Now, the manufacturer wants to test it for most of itโ€™s previous flagship and mid-range phones from last two years.
