Requirements:

Your Huawei device must have an Unlocked Bootloader. You can register here for unlock code: Register for Unlock Code. Visit this tutorial to unlock the bootloader.
Your device must be rooted with latest TWRP recovery. Flash the latest Magisk v16.2+.

Reboot into TWRP recovery,
Take a full backup.
Factory reset.

Note 1: If you would like to install TWRP, then Reboot into Bootloader mode, then Download HWOTA_VTR.zip file, extract the zip and run the file update.bat as an administrator.

Requirements

Your device must be rooted with latest TWRP recovery. Flash the latest Magisk v16.2+.
Download this Oreo rar archive which has been renamed to Oreo upgrade.
Download three files such as the full public, data, and simply update zip.
Rename the update_data_full_public.zip file to update_data_public.zip and the second data file update_full_VTR-29_hw_eu.zip to update_all_hw.zip.

Installation instructions

Download the Oreo upgrade from requirements and transfer it to PC or phone storage.
Extract the zip onto your PC or your phone’s SD Card.
Download the three update, data, and public files and transfer them to the extracted folder of Oreo upgrade. In PC it should be under Oreo upgrade folder.
Again compress the Oreo upgrade zip.
Reboot Huawei device into TWRP recovery. To do so, turn off your PC and then press and hold Volume Down + Power keys.
From TWRP, take a full Nandroid backup.
Now tap on install will install TWRP on your device.
Let the installation begin.
Reboot into the system.
