Download Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ new stable Oreo Odin firmware [G950FXXU1CRB7 and G955FXXU1CRB7]

Samsung already released the official stable Oreo update a few weeks ago. Now that the Samsung Experience 9.0 ROM is officially out of Beta Software Program, it is time to roll out the stable one. Following the cancellation of the stable Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus with firmware build number G955FXXU1CRAP and G955FXXU1CRAP respectively, the OTA seems to be resumed. Due to some random reboot issues, the update was paused. Today, the a new OTA update for the Galaxy S8 is being pushed.

The new Oreo update comes with firmware build number G950FXXU1CRB7 and  G950FXXU1CRB7 for S8 and S8 Plus respectively. While the Baseband version remains the same, it features more or less the same bug fixes and features. It is still based on Android 8.0 and latest February 2018 Android Security Patch. As the screenshot we have received is in German language, we are not sure what the update holds, except that its is based on Samsung Experience 9.0.

The OTA is currently rolling out in European countries like Germany, France, etc. It will soon come to other Asian and other European countries in a few days. The update file weighs around 530 MB in size. Users already updated to the CRAP update are likely to receive the CRB7 OTA first. The international variants of S8 and S8 Plus (Exynos variants SM-G950F/FD and SM- G955F/FD) will be among the first devices to receive the new Oreo firmware.

OTA downloads available

Users of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have captured the OTA update zip and made available for the public. So if your are on the CRAP firmware update then download the OTA and upgrade it to the latest CRB7 using stock recovery or ADB sideload method.

Galaxy S8:

First, you may need Galaxy S8 CRAP Odin (G950F) full stock firmware file. This is a direct OTA update from CRAP (Oreo 1) to CRB7 (Oreo 3) for G950F only.

How to download and install new Android 8.0 Oreo full Odin firmware for S8 and S8 Plus?

In order to update your Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus to the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update, you can either go to Settings > Software Updates > and download OTA update manually or simply download the full stock firmware file and install using Odin tool.

Here in this tutorial, we will show you how to download the full firmware files directly from Samsung Servers. Later, install it using the official Samsung firmware flashing tool called Odin.

At early times, using the SamFirm Tool may show you an earlier available Oreo ROM. This is because it is too early for the latest Oreo firmware files to be available from Samsung. Check after a few days for the CRB7 file.

Here are the latest Samsung’s Oreo build 2 for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus full stock firmware files. These are the complete packages and won’t trip Knox. The files need to be flashed using the special modded Odin tool listed below.

Installation instructions:

Step 1: First, download and install the SamFirm tool onto your Windows PC. This will let you download the full firmware file from Samsung Servers. For the Samsung Firmware tool, visit this tutorial.

Step 2: Later, launch the SamFirm tool and input the model number and the Product or CSC code for your device.

Step 3: Hit check for update and also check decrypt option. Download the latest firmware file shown. For reference, see the following image.

Step 4: Once the firmware has been downloaded on PC, extract the zip file to get a file with a .TAR extension.

Step 6: Connect your S8 device to PC, and add the firmware files to Odin software.

Step 7: Check the connectivity and start the upgrade procedure and let the installation begin.

Step 8: That’s it. Reboot your Android device and enjoy your new Oreo ROM.
