New Galaxy S8 (Plus) Oreo Beta 2 update with build G950USQU1ZQK8 available

Samsung is rolling out yet another Oreo update with firmware build number G950USQU1ZQK8 for the Galaxy S8+. It is reported that the Oreo Beta 2 for Snapdragon variant with build number G950USQU1ZQK6 has been pulled back and a new OTA update is rolling out with build G950USQU1ZQK8. Not much is listed on the changelog of the OTA update, except for some stability improvements, bug fixes, new features, and much more.

If we take a look at the Oreo Beta 2 for the global variant of the Galaxy S8/S8+, you will notice several new features and bug fixes. Some of the new features include a new clock and always on display style, adjusting transparency of notifications, Smarter Smart View, and much more.

As for the bug fixes, you will see numerous fixes and improvements to Bluetooth, CPU/RAM management, icons, launcher, Bixby, etc. So we assume, all these new upgrades can be found in the Galaxy S8 Oreo beta 2 for Snapdragon USA variant as well.

The new firmware build numbers are G950USQU1ZQK8 and G955USQU1ZQK8 for model numbers SM-G950U and G955U. Apparently, the first 1ZQK6 Beta 2 update crashed the very important “com.android.phone” package.

You can enroll into the Samsung Oreo Beta program and check for OTA updates. However, the Beta program may be full by now.
