Oxygen OS 4.5.0 now rolling out for OnePlus 3/3T [OTA downloads]

Following the Hydrogen OS 3.5 released just last week, the global Oxygen OS is also being updated to v4.5.0 with similar features. Oxygen OS 4.5.0 brings a new OnePlus launcher 2.1.5 to the OnePlus 3/3T with some minor UI changes. The update also features a new Dash charging screen, OnePlus Slate font, Do Not Disturb for gaming, schedule for night mode, and much more. All of these features were already tested on the Open Beta Program.

Apart from the above, you will now see network speed in the status bar. The launcher finally adds the Shot on OnePlus for the stable version. Moreover, you will see a revamped calling UI, new photo gallery, and added secure box in file manager. All these apps can be downloaded later in our post.

OxygenOS 4.5.0 is still based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and not Oreo. But Oreo will come soon to the OnePlus 3 duo. The manufacturer’s software development team is currently working on the first Android 8.0.0 Oreo build for the two devices. In fact, they have already rolled out the closed beta based on Oreo. Though the OnePlus Launcher 2.1.5 comes with minor changes, it does bring some stability and performance improvements to the system. You will see a Pixel like swipe for app drawer feature, new icons, and much more.

How to update OnePlus 3/3T to Oxygen OS 4.5.0 via OTA update?

This is the stable firmware update. As the full firmware files are not yet available, you will have to capture the OTA update. Hence, you will receive the official OTA update notification. Simply download and install. If you haven’t received any OTA update notification, then follow the below steps.

Step 1: Make sure your OnePlus device is running the stock recovery. However, TWRP recovery will also suffice as you will simply receive a full OTA update.

Step 2: Make sure your devcie is running previous OxygenOS 4.1.7. If you are on Open Beta update, download update to OnePlus 4.1.7 from here.

Step 3: Now, reboot into system and install a VPN app like Opera VPN.

Step 4: Open the VPN app and change the device location to Canada or Germany.

Step 5: Now go to Settings > System updates > check for update.

Step 6: Download the OTA update listed

Step 7: Approve for installation.
