Energy Aware Scheduling (EAS)?

Energy Aware Scheduling is a new project for Android devices which can almost double the battery life of all the smartphones running Android operating system. Currently only the Google Pixel has this feature integrated into the system.

According to XDAโ€™s post, the EAS would enable the device to get over 7 hours of screen on time by only using 50% of the battery. This works wonder on the Google Pixel and Pixel XL.

You can read more about how EAS work from here.

Does Oxygen OS 4.5.7 brings EAS to OnePlus 5?

Not yet. According to rumors, EAS is supposed to come to OnePlus 5 with Oxygen OS 4.6. However, its not know as to when will the update show up. This is still the OOS 4.5 and we donโ€™t thing it will be implemented any time soon. It may take up to 6 months. Moreover, with OnePlus confirming Android O for OnePlus 5, 3, and 3T, its very unlikely that Energy Aware Scheduling will be available any time soon.

As EAS is kernel based integration. Hence, with every new Android version, the developers need to develop a new Kernel. So if we are to believe that EAS could come to OnePlus 5, then it will only be after Android O update.
