download and install AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Android 7.0 Nougat firmware OTA SM-G930A-G935A

Many variants of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are already running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat firmware with build number G935FXXU1DPLT. The update is now available globally for European countries like UK, Germany and Asian countries like India, China, Korea, etc. The Samsung Nougat update arrives late in theย United States as it depends on the carriers like Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T. However, the AT&T Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge have received Nougat OTA updates with build numbers G930AUCU4BQA4 and G935AUCU4BQA4 respectively.

XDA forum members have captured the Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update for the AT&T variant of Galaxy S7.ย The Nougat update is not an Odin flashable firmware file with .tar extension. It comes in the form of captured OTA zip file. This is because AT&T does not release the full stock firmware for their devices. You will have to update your device step by step using the OTA files listed below just like we did for theย AT&T Galaxy S6 (Edge), Galaxy S7 (Edge), AT&T Note 5, S5 G900A,ย etc.ย The latest February security patch is also available with build number G935AUCU4BQA6.

How to Install AT&T Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge Android 7.0 Nougat firmware OTA update?

Flash the OTA files either via stock recovery by choosing apply updates from SD Card or via ADB sideload method. You will need to update your firmware gradually. These are incremental OTA updates. Meaning, you will need to check the firmware build number of your device and then flash the proper OTA file right next to it. If you are on v1 then go through v1>v2>v3>v4>v5>v6 and so on. Repeat the following steps for each OTA.

Prerequisites

1. Verify your device for compatibility.

2.ย Make sure you have latest device drivers setup on your PC for a better connection. Get it from the official pageย of your device manufacturer.

3. Make sure that your Galaxy S7 Edge battery is fully charged

4.ย TURN OFF the Reactivation Lock โ€“ Go to Settings > PERSONAL > Lock screen and security > Find My Mobile and log in your Samsung Account. Then uncheck the Turn Reactivation lock on. This is only needed if you already turned-it-ON, from which you cannot modify the system when itโ€™s turned-ON.

Installation Instructions

Step 1: Download the firmware or OTA file for your Android device. You donโ€™t need to extract the file, just place the file in the phone storage where you can easily locate it.

Step 2:ย Reboot your S7 device into stock recovery. To do so, turn off theย phone completely. Now Hold Volume Up + Home + Power until you see a little Android guy.

Step 3: Once into recovery, Select Apply update from SD card or External Storage.

Step 4: Reboot to system.

Step 5: Repeat for each version V1>V2>V3 and so on until you reach the last Nougat update.

Thatโ€™s it wait for the operation to complete.ย Alternatively,ย if the above procedure fails, you can also manually flash it via ADB sideload. Check out the full tutorial from here.
