Download OnePlus 3T Open Beta 1 OTA and Full ROM zip

The first build of the stunning Open Beta for the OnePlus 3T is now live and available for download based on the Android 7.0 Nougat.However, it’s not the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat one. It could be released later in 2017 for the OnePlus flagship phones. For that, you may like to see official CyanogenMod 14.1 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

You may also like the stable firmware for OnePlus 3 like the Oxygen OS 3.5.4 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow – which is the best option if you want everything stable.

Nougat Beta 1 can work with both the stock recovery and the official TWRP recovery as well. However, take a Nandroid backup before you proceed.

How to Update OnePlus 3T to Android 7.0 Nougat Open Beta 1 via TWRP or stock recovery?

You can update your OnePlus 3T to the official Open Beta 1 via 2 methods. First is for rooted users with TWRP recovery and the other is for non-rooted users with stock recovery. The methods are listed below and will direct you to the exact tutorial.

Method 1 – How to Install Android 7.0 Nougat Open Beta 1 on OnePlus 3T via ADB sideload?

This will require you to flash the officially signed full firmware update file via ADB sideload method. This is a very common technique used to install OTA updates manually onto most of the Android devices including Nexus, Motorola, etc. So if you are coming from the stock Oxygen OS 3.5.4 then it’s wise to use this method.

Stock Recovery for OnePlus 3T → Download | In case you need the stock recovery. Ignore if already on stock.

Prerequisites:

1. Enable USB Debugging on your device. To do so, go to Settings>About Phone> Tap on the Build Number several times until you get a new Developer Options in the Settings. Open Developer Options and enable USB Debugging from there. Trust the connection by allowing it when you connect it to your PC for the first time.

2. For ADB and Fastboot download the quick ADB and Fastboot Installer from here for Windows users and easily setup ADB and Fastboot on Mac OS, Linux or Chrome OS from here.

Installation Instructions:

Step 1: Download the OTA/full ROM file for OnePlus 3T. Keep the file on your PC where you can easily locate it.

Step 2: Connect the Android device and open a command prompt or terminal on your PC.

Step 3: Reboot your OnePlus 3T device into stock recovery mode. To do so, issue the following command through cmd or terminal. (You can do it manually as well)

adb reboot recovery

Step 4: Now, tap on the first option that says “Install update via ADB”.

Step 5: Open the folder where the ota.zip file is open, flash the OTA by issuing the following command. (Type the exact name with its proper extension.)

adb sideload <filename>.zip

The OTA update will start. Alternatively, while, on Mac OS, you can issue “./adb sideload <filename>.zip” command or on Linux type “sudo adb sideload <filename>.zip” to flash the OTA.

Method 2 – Install OnePlus 3T Nougat Beta 1 via TWRP recovery?

We have shown you how to root and install TWRP recovery on the OnePlus 3T. So if you already have the custom recovery installed with bootloader unlocked, then you can perform a dirty flash for the Nougat Open Beta 1. Dirty flash means without wiping data and without performing a factory reset. You can flash normally. However, if the system doesn’t boot, perform a factory reset from TWRP.

Here is a short tutorial on TWRP usage.

• Make sure you have the modified TWRP version.
• Download the Open Beta 1 Full ROM zip from above.
• Reboot into TWRP recovery.
• Take a Nandroid backup.
• You can either clean flash or proceed with a dirty flash on previous OOS 3.5.4.
• Select and confirm installation.
• Flash TWRP again.
• Reboot to system.

How to Root OnePlus 3T on Android 7 Open Beta 10 Android 7.0 Nougat ROM?

Simply flash the SuperSU v2.79 recommended. Flash the SuperSU package using TWRP.
