Following official AOSP firmware port from Google onto the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7ย (2013), which did not receive the Android 7.0 Nougatย update this year, developers and device maintainers have come to the support for the good old LG Nexus 4. This was certain, however, we are surprised it would be this quick. The Nougat source has been ported to the Nexus 4 today and comes in the form of an unofficial AOSP ROM. As we know, Google has cut off support for this device. Just like the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, the AOSP ROMย port for Nexus 4 comes with some bugs. Thatโ€™s becauseย it is an initial build and some of the features are not yet supported by the device. With this AOSP build, you may see some issues with theย camera app, sensors, NFC, etc. However, if you are not bugged by these things and simply want to try the new Android 7.0 Nougat OS, then head over to the download section and instructions from below and flash it via TWRP recovery. So remember, the ROM may not prove to be a daily driver for everyone. Check out the bug report from below and make a wise decision. Yes, after this first build, more builds can be expected.
