How to Installย Stock B136 EMUI 4.1 Firmware on Huawei P9 and Restore to Stock?

Update Huawei P9 Normally with Dialer:

Step 1.ย First, check your firmware version device and proceed. If you already have the latest one, you donโ€™t need to update.

Step 2.ย Backup is highly recommended. Backup all your personal stuff like data, apps, media, storage files and fully charge the battery.

Step 3.ย Download stock firmware file from above for your Huawei device.

Step 4.ย Extract the downloaded file โ€œB136.zipโ€ and then copy the folder contained โ€œdloadโ€ in the root directory (level 1 of the storage) of your SD Card.

Rename the downloaded file to update.zip for convenience. (.zip extension is important)

Step 5.ย Now open the dialer app and type the string: * # * # 2846579 # * # * and choose option 4 named Software Upgrade โ€œ->โ€ SDCard Upgrade โ€œand confirm withโ€ OK โ€œ.

Now create a folder namedย dload in the root of your internal storage or on your SD card. Now place the update.zip file here.

Step 6.ย Wait for the installation to complete.

Forced Method: Update Huawei P9 manually

Step 1.ย Download EMUI 4.1 stock firmware file from above for your device.

Step 2.ย Rename the downloaded file to update.zip for convenience. (.zip extension is important)

Step 3.ย Now create a folder namedย dload in the root of your internal storage or on your SD card. Now place the update.zip file here.

Step 4.ย Go to settings>update and hit theย menu button and then choose Local update.

Step 5.ย Ifย  you have copied the update.zip file correctly, then you will find it on the select menu. Tap on it and start the installation.

Note: Alternatively, turn off your device completely and hold the VOLUME UP, VOLUME DOWN button pressed and the POWER button. The update will start automatically.

Step 6.ย Wait until the update is applied.

Troubleshoot boot loop on Huawei P9:

Forced upgrade: In case your phone is bricked, turn it off completely and then boot by holding Vol down + Vol up + Power at the same time. Release the Power button upon vibration and wait forย the upgrade to start. Alternatively, you can try a factory reset from your stock recovery.

Hello there, I’m not sure I get these instructions right. What EXACTLY am I supposed to do using the “ALTERNATIVE” way of the Forced Method (the VOLUME DOWN, UP AND POWER BUTTON method).
Could you please respond with a picture of what exactly I should put inside the dload folder (which is found within the root of the internal storage or the micro SD card root.). I’ve downloaded the first file : dload-huawei-p9-eval09-eva-b136.zip. When I open this ZIP, there is a folder called “dload” inside the ZIP and within the “dload” folder, there is an UPDATE.APP file and two folders called “dt” and “hw”. What goes where… Within the “dt” and “hw” folders, there are three more files ending with .APP. Could you please tell me where and what to correctly place inside the “dload” folder in the root of your internal storage. Please, you’d be in a lot of help.
