download-nexus-september-2016-android-7-0-nougat-marshmallow

Google has now begun the September 6, 2016, AOSP security level patch OTA update for the beloved Nexus range. This AOSP update can be classified into Android 7.0 Nougat0- for the premium Nexus 5X, 9, etc. and the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow- for the Nexus range which did not receive the official Nougat update last month. The firmware build number has now been updated to NRD90R or NRD90S for the Nougat OS andย MOB31E for the Marshmallow. This is still Android version 7.0.0ย and not the Android 7.0.1 or even the v7.1, which was falsely claimed by many other Android news blogs. However, Google has now planned to release two new devices named Google Pixel and the Pixel XL which were formerly claimed to be Nexus Marlin and Sailfish. Both these devices are manufactured by HTC. The Google Pixel series isย reported to be launchedย with Android 7.1 Nougat on October 4. UPDATE: Google has now listed the Android 7.0 Nougat based NRD90U firmware build for Nexus 6P โ€“ both OTA and Factory Image.

Here we have listed various OTA and factory image updates for your Nexus. Now, as we said, the update is divided into Android Nougat and Marshmallow AOSP builds. The Nexus 5X, for instance, received the AOSP build NRD90S whereas Nexus 9 (WiFi), Pixel C, and the Nexus Player are being updated to NRD90R. All of which are based on Nougat. On the other hand, the Nexus 5, 6, 9(LTE), etc. are being updated to MOB31E based on Marshmallow. Moreover, Nexus 7 LTE & WiFi received builds MOB30X. Now even though Nexus 6P has been updated to Android 7.0 Nougat, Google has not yet updated the OTdownloadod repository page for the 6P new Android Nougat build. Instead, it shows Android 6.0.1 based MTC20L Marshmallow build. Apparently, the users have aย choice to update to the newer build. If you are looking for the Nougat OTA for 6P, then check out our previous post on offical Nougat release.
