Google apps (gapps), or as the name suggests, are basically stock apps from Google that comes with the AOSP source. These Google apps range from Play Store, Chrome, YouTube, Gmail, Google Search (search bar), Google Now launcher, camera, now on tap, and much more. It also included one of the most important service – the Google Play Services without which you cannot access the Google Play Store or run any of the gapps listed above. Gapps come in handy if you are running a custom ROM like the CyanogenMod 13/12.1/11, etc. The CM 13 don’t come with pre-install Gapps as they already have their own apps, and also because it is a standalone firmware in itself. So in order to gain access to the Google services on a custom ROM like CM, you will need to flash the Gapps package additionally over your ROM. Update: The Gapps for the Android 7.1 Nougat Developer Preview or official are now available. Download Google Apps for Nougat now!

Now, the Gapps have come to the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware just like the KitKat, Jelly Bean, and previous Android OS versions. As the Android 7.0 Nougat is yet to be released officially, you may not find the gapps for Nougat at this moment. So once Google updates the AOSP source code with Android v7.0, you will soon see Gapps for the same and we will list them as soon as they are available. Moreover, you won’t need them either as the firmware isn’t available right now. You will need then once the CyanogenMOd 14 is released. It is skeptical that Cyanogen Inc. would actually name its upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat based firmware as CyanogenMod 14.  However, judging on the naming convention of Cyanogen, the new firmware may most likely be named as CM 14 or later. So head over to download section to get gapps. for all the Android OS versions and all Android devices. Update: Gapps for Android 7.0 Nougat are now available.
