The OnePlus manufacturer has jumped the gun with its upcoming Oxygen OS v3.0 that comes with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The manufacturer had already promised a Marshmallow update in the past and now the company has released a Soak test program for its users. The OnePlus 2 and most likely the OnePlus X will be among the first devices to receive the soak test upgrade. The date is not yet confirmed. However, if the hype is to be believed, users may expect it as soon as within a week. We will be updating the link below as we get it. So stay tuned and keep checking the download section below.
Many manufacturers have been indulging into a Beta testing program for their devices before their actual Marshmallow release. This gives them the idea about how the new software runs on the user’s devices and accordingly bugs are fixed with the help of the anonymous data sent back to the developers. Sony started a Beta test program recently similar to the Samsung and Motorola Beta/Soak test version for Galaxy S6 and Moto G respectively. They used a Sign Up program using an Android app or web app, that required them to register for an OTA update. Similarly, OnePlus users may expect a Sign Up program soon and receive either a full ROM or OTA onto their device.
A OnePlus 2 user uploaded pictures of the latest Oxygen OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. You can check out the screenshots from below. The soak test is not up yet, so you will have to wait. We will update this post as we get the Soak test Download link or sign up page; whichever comes first. Meanwhile, you can take a look at how you can restore your OnePlus 2 device to full stock with Oxygen OS 2.2.1 firmware so that you can receive the Oxygen OS 3.0 OTA updates over the air.
